Active utilization of Trac9 was associated with substantial improvements beyond standard residential care with passive monitoring. Patients receiving treatment with optimal Trac9 utilization achieved 82% greater symptom improvement compared to those with minimal system engagement (23.80 vs 13.08 GRS points, p < 0.001). This enhanced symptom improvement translated to reduced relapse risk, with optimal utilization associated with a 6.6 percentage point absolute risk reduction (42.1% to 35.5%) in one-year post-discharge substance use.
Trac9 assesses nine core domains of addiction recovery using primarily public-domain instruments, either in original form or with minor adaptations for the addiction context. Together, these nine domains form the Global Recovery Scale (GRS). The five symptom domains include: Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Verbal Craving, and Visual Craving (Cue exposure, serving as assessment and treatment). Commitment Sobriety, Optimism, Quality of Life in Addiction Recovery, and Spirituality.
Scores can range from 0% to 100%, with higher scores reflecting improvements in resilience and decreases in pathology.
GRS was created to provide a comprehensive benchmark in total improvement throughout the course of treatment.
Each instrument contributing to the Global Recovery Score is standardized and published in scientific literature. As of 2025, GRS has been collected on over 240,000 clients, representing all levels of care, and all regions of the United States.
Trac9 Informatics customers are able to benchmark their performance against the national average GRS through all assessment batteries and aggregate scoring.
